Learn about the items of municipal interest that passed in the recently completed legislative session and what we can expect to resurface in the next.  Hear from        MMA’s new HR director about where the State is on implementation of the Paid Family Medical Leave law and how MMA plans to help its members navigate the new requirements.

9:45 - 10:45 AM - Weaponized AI: How a Hacker Hacks and Attacks in 2024
Presenter: Erica Burgess, Tyler Cybersecurity Architect, Tyler Technologies               

We are in the era of democratized AI, accessible by virtually anyone…including hackers. From the perspective of an ethical hacker demonstrating real-world hacking scenarios, learn how AI is used to make previously intractable or sophisticated attacks more common than ever. We’ll also discuss how various AI systems are attacked, how we can defend using AI, how to use AI systems safely, and strategies to identify AI social engineering attacks, all driven by a rapidly developing technology.

11:00 AM -12:00 PM - Insurance 101: Property and Casualty
Presenter: Marcus Ballou, MMA Risk Management

You know you need it, but what, exactly, does it cover, and what are the important considerations when reviewing your coverage?  MMA’s insurance expert goes over the nuts and bolts and provides answers to insurance mysteries such as why there are items on your property schedule with values lower than your deductible.  He’ll also touch on how cybercrime and climate change are impacting the insurance industry.  Come with your questions!

1:00 – 1:50 PM  Ethics and Fraud
Presenters:  Shandi Howell, SVP and Director of Fraud Risk Management and Andrea Lydon, AVP and Risk Mitigation Manager, Northeast Bank

This session will provide ethical practices for Government finance officers and how those practices can reduce fraud risk
