Who Should Attend:
This workshop is a must - whether appointed or elected, every municipal leader or staff manager/supervisor should be informed about personnel laws. Whether it’s conduct, conflict resolution, ADA requirements, FMLA obligations or just dealing with staff performance expectations, managers and supervisors need to be aware of the requirements. If you supervise, manage or lead anyone, you shouldn’t miss this course.
Course Information:
This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of the various and important personnel laws that every public manager, leader, department head and staff member should be familiar with. Topics may include discipline and discharge, family medical leaves, disability, discrimination and handling difficult employee situations. There will be discussion on special rules that apply to public employers, and the presenters will answer questions and will discuss common personnel issues.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations must be submitted using this Cancellation form to cancel your registration for an event. Cancellations received before 4/24/24 will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing. Registration changes (switching from in-person to virtual or vice versa) will be assessed a $15 administrative fee for processing. Cancellations received on/after 4/24/24 will be charged 50% of the course fee. Any registrant who does not attend and does not cancel their registration (i.e., no-show) and any cancellation received the day of the event will be charged the full registration fee.
