The City of South Portland is currently seeking a 37.5 hour a week full-time Office Administrator to join our Parks, Recreation & Waterfront team. This is an opportunity to join a well-run city and play a part in serving our community with further opportunities for professional growth.
Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex administrative work maintaining official records, providing administrative support to the Parks, Recreation and Waterfront Department staff, and assisting in the standard operating policies and procedures of the department. This position is responsible for supervising full and part-time Front desk staff and the department administrative assistant.
Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent, which includes specialized course work in general office practice.
Experience: Three (3) or more years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year-to-year basis.

Salary Range beginning July 1, 2025: $27.69 – $31.74/hour ($50,856 - $61,893 annually) depending on experience. This position is eligible for annual step increases, and possible annual cost of living increases as approved by the City Council.
