Town of Jackman - Public Works Laborer

The Town of Jackman is currently seeking a part-time Public Works Laborer to perform a variety of jobs. Duties will include the operation and maintenance of light and moderately heavy trucks and equipment, general maintenance throughout the town, and sanding and snow removal of town streets and properties. This position may also assist in the operation of the Town's Transfer & Recycling Center by providing guidance to the residents in the proper utilization of the facility, collecting designated fees according to the fee schedule, and perform other related tasks. A successful applicant must be dependable and possess the ability to deal courteously and tactfully with superiors, co-workers, and the general public. Class C Driver’s license is required.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:       

  • Ability to operate equipment (plow truck, lawnmower, backhoe, forklift, loader, etc.) , complete manual tasks, and work outdoors year-round
  • Individuals with mechanical skills encouraged to apply
  • Knowledge in the operation of the Transfer Station
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions
  • Customer service skills
  • High school diploma or its equivalent
