Patrol Officer – City of Eastport
Eastport Police Department is located on the Island of Eastport off of the northeast coast of Maine. At our department we serve a population of about 1300 citizens, and we also assist our neighboring police departments in serving communities outside of Eastport. We believe maintaining healthy relationships with neighboring public safety agencies is vital to keeping officers and members of the community safe.
Eastport Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full time Patrol Officer. We are seeking an officer who is ethical, professional, motivated, team oriented, wants to make a difference, and is willing to take ownership of his or her agency. As this agency is rebuilding, choosing to be a part of the process and realization of its vision, is a rare and noble opportunity.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Upholding & enforcing all applicable laws & regulations
Providing assistance to community members in need
Preparing for and policing large community events (which can double the population size)
Certified as a law enforcement officer in the state of Maine, eligible for certification by transfer, or eligible for admittance in the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. At time of application applicants must have attained a passing score on the M.C.J.A ALERT Test.
Hourly wage dependent on education and experience.
