The Town of Kennebunk Public Services Department is accepting applications for winter seasonal on-call plow drivers. The employee in this position will work on an on-call basis approximately from November-April for the winter season, and must be available for all winter storm and emergency events, that may result in working long hours including holidays and weekends.
This position would primarily operate light equipment (1 ton) trucks for the purpose of snow and ice clean-up and other duties as assigned.
Conditions of employment include a background check and the successful completion of a pre-employment physical and a drug and alcohol screening. While a CDL is not required for this position, if the successful candidate is a CDL holder, they would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing as described in the Town of Kennebunk Drug and Alcohol Testing policy.
The desired minimum job qualifications are:
(A) High School Diploma or equivalent;
(B) Clean driving record;
(C) Hold a valid Maine Driver’s License, CDL preferred though not required;
(D) Experience operating light (1 ton) trucks;
(E) Experience performing snow and ice removal operations preferred; or
(F) Any combination of education, training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
The starting hourly wage is $20.92/hour as prescribed by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. On-Call positions are not eligible for benefits.
