The Winslow Fire & Rescue Department (WFD) is currently accepting applications for Per Diem (not full-time) paramedics. The department is seeking qualified applicants to join our team to provide 24-hour paramedic coverage. The WFD is a progressive all hazards department that provides emergency medical transport service, fire suppression, technical rescue, hazardous materials, water rescue, life safety education, fire prevention, and arson investigation services. WFD seeks highly motivated individuals to join our “Team Atmosphere”.
The WFD operates three 24-hour shifts, 365 days a year, including all holidays.
The essential responsibilities of this position include responding to a variety of emergency calls and operating in sometimes extreme and hazardous conditions. The work is performed in accordance with Maine EMS protocols, the departmental regulations and is subject to review by the Fire Chief. The position requires considerable independent judgment and the ability to think quickly and to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or equivalent, Maine State Paramedic License or National Registry. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license without any serious convictions on the driving or criminal record. Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
National Register NREMT-P. AVOC/EVOC.
$20/hour for the day shift
$50 minimum stipend and $22/hour for each response for the night shift.
