Assistant Clerk

The Town of Eliot is currently seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Clerk.  This highly motivated person will become part of a multifunctional office team with duties such as but not limited to:  motor vehicle and recreational vehicle registrations, collection of property taxes/utility bills, issuing hunting and fishing licenses, processing birth, marriage and death records, registering voters and assisting with the election process. The Assistant Clerk has considerable contact with the general public and is a primary responder for customer service/counter work.  The Assistant Clerk may also be assigned special areas of responsibility.

Municipal office experience and knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel, and TRIO are preferred.  The Assistant Clerk must be able to multi-task and work with accuracy in a fast-paced environment with good communication skills.  This is a full-time position; compensation is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
