The Town of Benton is currently seeking a candidate for a part time, Code Enforcement Officer/LPI. This Code Enforcement Officer/LPI is appointed annually by the Select Board. The annual base salary of $15,900 payable in installments at the same time as other employees of the Town are paid, plus the current federal rate for mileage. The Town of Benton fiscal year starts January 1st and compensation runs with the fiscal year.
The successful candidate must meet all State requirements as a Code Enforcement Officer and Plumbing Inspector; ability to understand site plans/ building plans/Town ordinances; hold a valid Maine driver license and use of personal vehicle.
The CEO will attend all meetings of the Planning Board, including preparing information for the Board’s review. The ideal applicant must possess strong and effective customer service skills; demonstrate proficiency in both oral and written communications.
