Wastewater Operator - Yarmouth

Description:  The Town of Yarmouth is currently accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator. The position requires physical labor as well as semi-skilled and skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment facilities and equipment as well as the operation and maintenance of the sewer collection system.

Requirements: Experience in operation, maintenance and repair of wastewater treatment plant equipment, systems, and physical plant as well as operation and maintenance of Department pump stations and sewer collection system preferred. Position requires a Class A CDL with tank endorsement or the ability to obtain licensing within 6 months. A State of Maine Grade I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License or the ability to obtain within 1 year. A positive and professional attitude and a high school diploma with (2) years of experience in a wastewater utility or the equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Salary and Benefits:  Starting pay is $21.02 to $24.67 per hour and potentially higher depending on licenses and accreditation after the successful completion of a six (6) month probationary period. Position includes an excellent benefit package, financial incentives, paid training, and safe work environment.
