The Town of Orono seeks a dedicated, detail-oriented staff accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of duties which may include reconciling general ledger accounts, internal and external financial reporting and analysis, banking reconciliation, accounts payable processing, budget analysis, annual budget preparation assistance, as well as other accounting duties typical of a municipality. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, show initiative, provide leadership, prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced diversified workplace. Requirements include an Associate's Degree in Accounting or 4 years related experience, at least 2 years experience in a busy accounting office, and excellent computer skills, including experience in computer-based accounting applications, as well as spreadsheet and word processing programs.
