SUMMARY: The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) Coordinator performs complex professional engineering management and oversight for coordination and submission of new IIJA grant programs and other state/federal grant programs.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Engineering or related field plus 20+ years engineering design experience and 10+ years engineering management experience, with progressive responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver’s license. State of Maine Professional Engineer license preferred.


WORK ACTIVITIES: Identify and create application packages for local, state and federal funding opportunities. Provides oversight focused on grant opportunities critical to aligning projects with the greatest chance of success, including meeting short deadlines. Works with City staff to identify and apply projects from the Capital Improvement Plan that may be eligible for various grant programs, including long range funding and regional organization plans. Supervises and tracks capital grant funding including providing periodic status updates to Administrative personnel. Implements appropriate mapping to ensure equity of services among Lewiston residents and businesses. Assists with long range planning of capital improvements based on federal, state and local statutes/regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
