Maine Public Employees Retirement System seeks a Computer Operations Technician to join the IT department.
The incumbent has prime responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of user desktop computing equipment and peripherals, and end-user training. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the daily operation of the MainePERS data center, installation and support of desktop computing equipment, installation and support of printers, tracking and ordering of supplies and spare equipment, and the development and maintenance of Operations documentation. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Minimum qualifications:
Four (4) years of experience working in a computer operations environment providing a solid working knowledge of computer operations plus nine (9) college credits in Computer Science; or other equivalent experience and/or training demonstrating comparable knowledge.
Preferred Qualifications:
An Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university.
