As Bath’s Deputy Recreation Director, your mission is to develop and implement community recreation programs for all ages, abilities and interests. You’ll help determine Bath’s recreational needs, plan a variety of programs and activities, and coordinate seasonal youth sports. Working closely with the Parks and Recreation Director, you have a leadership role in the Recreation Division of the Parks and Recreation Department and supervise program staff, volunteers, coaches and instructors.

You have relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in recreation management or a related field and are certified in First Aid. Your work experience includes supervising others and managing activities or programs at a community center or recreation facility. You communicate well, enjoy working as a team and independently, and embrace recreation philosophy. Most of all, you are excited to provide the Bath community with the very best experiences and diverse recreational and leisure opportunities to enhance the quality of life for its citizens.

This full-time, FLSA-exempt position is a Grade B09 on the City’s scale and starting salary is $64,376 – 74,027, depending on experience. The City of Bath offers ample paid leave, a Maine State Retirement plan in lieu of social security, and excellent health and wellness benefits.
