The City of Brewer, Maine is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with strong communication skills for the full-time position of Assessing Technician/Clerical Aide.
The successful candidate will have experience in the appraisal and valuation of real and personal property. Prior experience working in a municipal, or public setting, is desirable; however, individuals with private sector experience in residential and commercial property appraisal are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency with computer software, including Vision, Munis, and Trio Assessing is desirable. Must have the ability to work independently and with a team across multiple departments, as well as effectively communicate assessing questions to the general public. Duties will include maintaining City records; reading and interpreting deeds, probate and court records; property inspections, data entry, maintaining maps, correspondence and customer service; and providing administrative support. The successful candidate will have demonstrable organization skills.
