The Winthrop Ambulance Service is currently seeking a motivated and caring individual interested in an exciting and rewarding career opportunity as a full-time line Paramedic. Winthrop Ambulance delivers emergency service to seven communities in the Western Lakes Region of Kennebec County, serving a population of 20,000+. The Service responds to over 2,200 calls per year, with limited transfer volume. Our staff average less than 2 calls per 12-hour shift. This is a thirty-six (36) hour per week position with sick time, vacation time, and health and retirement benefits. Position includes emergency responses, community paramedicine and outreach duties. The successful candidate will be required to pass a physical capacity screening.

Benefits include: • Pay range: $27.24 to $28.36 per hour DOQ • Vacation time earned at 80 hours per year. Increases at year 7, 12, and 20. • Sick time earned at 96 hours per year. • 12 Holidays per year. Thanksgiving and Christmas paid at double hourly rate. • MainePERS retirement, AC plan (25 years/50%, 60 years of age). • Health insurance through MMA. Town pays 90% of single employee, 65% of family plan. Town currently has POS 200 plan. • Dental plan: Town pays 100% of employee. • Vision plan: Employee paid, $5.58 per month for employee, added for spouse/children. • Life Insurance: 1x annual salary paid by Town if included with Health Insurance. Additional available for $.30 per $1,000 coverage per month. • Flex Benefit plan, pre-tax available up to $2,500 maximum, • Income protection: $2.04 per month for each $100 of monthly coverage. • Paid uniform allowance. • Paid training clause for all training required by job description. • Yearly payment in lieu of Health Insurance and Dental: $2,500 per year. • Available 401k plan, employee paid.
