Tax Collector                                                 

DESCRIPTION: The Town of Sabattus is seeking an individual to fill the position of full-time tax collector at the Sabattus Town Office. This employee is responsible for providing customer service to individuals needing assistance at the Town Office, processing all duties of the tax collector, processing State of Maine vehicle registrations, issuing of various licenses/permits, processing payments for taxes and sanitary/water district, become cross trained with other job responsibilities within the office.  The hours of the position are Monday, Wednesday Thursday 8:00 pm to 4:30 pm; Tuesdays from 8:15AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:15 am to 1:00 pm.  The pay is based on experience.

REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience preferred in working within a municipal or state office, but not mandated, knowledge of office procedures, ability to utilize local accounting software and State of Maine software, ability to provide courteous customer service and ability to work in a small team environment.
