The Town of Winthrop is hiring a full-time General Assistance Administrator / Office Assistant to the Town Planner and Code Enforcement Officer. This dual-role position, which will be filled in July, offers an opportunity to serve the community both through direct assistance to residents in need and by supporting essential municipal functions in planning and code enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:

Administer the Town’s General Assistance program in compliance with state law.

Provide professional and confidential support to applicants seeking emergency help.

Assist the Town Planner and Code Enforcement Officer with permitting, scheduling, filing, correspondence, and meeting preparation.

Interact with the public, contractors, and board members with professionalism and care.
Qualifications:

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Administrative experience (municipal or social services preferred).

Compassionate, detail-oriented, and tech-savvy.

High school diploma required; post-secondary education a plus.
Pay and Benefits:

Hourly Wage: $20.00

Hours: Standard weekday hours

Health Insurance: Town pays 90% of employee premium; 65% for spouse/dependents

Dental: 100% premium paid by the Town
