Come help us take care of the City of Portland’s athletic fields! This is skilled and responsible work in the agricultural maintenance of City–owned athletic facilities that includes 40+ fields, over 94 acres and two synthetic turf stadiums. This is a full time position (40 hours/week): Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:00pm)
Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions on agricultural input applications and record their effects.
- Knowledge of ballfield maintenance, sports field regulations, turf care, landscaping and irrigation systems.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and geometric layouts.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City staff.
- Ability and willingness to work mandatory overtime during the winter period.
- Must possess physical strength and agility necessary to perform the essential functions of the job under exposure to varied climatic conditions.
- Must be able to work weekends, nights, and different shifts required by seasonal commitment.
- Must possess a valid Class C driver's license.

Salary & Benefits
Labor & Trades – Grade 16 - pay range $21.02 to $22.50 per hour depending upon experience. $1.00 Stipend will be issued on the base pay. External New Hire Candidates willing to commit for two years are eligible for a $2,500 sign on bonus to be paid out over the 2 years.
