Truck Driver/Laborer
DESCRIPTION: The Town of Sabattus is seeking an individual to fill the position of Truck Driver/Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer. The Truck Driver/Laborer positions is responsible for Operating trucks and sanders, plowing Town roads, assists in construction and maintaining of Town Roads, operating moderate heavy equipment and perform related work as required. The pay is based on experience and within the guidelines of collective bargaining agreement.
REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience preferred in plowing and maintaining of Town or State Roads, working knowledge of occupational safety, knowledge of operating and maintaining variety of equipment utilized by public works employee, must possess the physical ability to perform heavy manual labor and must be able to work in a small team environment. Applicants must possess a Maine CDL Class B license endorsement. If you have a manual restriction you will need to have the ability to have this removed within 6 months. Then town may reimburse for this. A Class A with Tank, Hazmat and School Bus endorsements is a plus.
